Developing junior participation in any sport in vital to it's future and ongoing success. This is certainly true of Racquetball where junior development is no where near the level that sports such as Golf and Tennis enjoy. We are trying. While there is spotty play by juniors throughout the state, the consistency of participation in tournaments is not there. We do have atleast one bona fide junior development program in progress that is starting to yield positive results. The program is headed up by some dedicated players who care about the future of the sport they love. The program is based at the Philadelphia Sports Club in Chalfont(Montgomery County). The PSRA is helping to support the needs of the fledgling program and can help out if other programs develop. Junior entry fees at the State Championships is paid for by the PSRA, as well as any sanctioned event in the state. If your son or daughter (up to age 18) plays in a PSRA sanctioned tournament, you can be reimbursed the cost of the entry fee. Just contact John Barrett with the location and amount paid and you will receive a check for that amount.
